Backyard bottle hunter

Hello,

I just started bottle hunting in the river in my backyard and found an old Pepsi cola bottle from the 1940s-1955ish. I’m having trouble finding more information on how to precisely date it. Here’s some photos if anyone wants to take a crack at it or refer me to some good research sites.

Welcome to the forum! Accoring to this SHA page, Pepsi bottles used a different date code system from most other Owens-Illinois bottles. Yours is from 1951 in that case: https://sha.org/bottle/pdffiles/OwensIllinois2015.pdf

Welcome to the forum. If you get questions, just ask! All questions are good questions, especially if you are new. There's a lot of ins and outs to collecting bottles, a lot to know. Keep at it and you'll find something good eventually. Took me three years to find a whole bottle, before that I was just picking fragments. It was another year after that to find anything really good.
