Nice little group of poisons, Joel. The two English hexagons were a deal at $3, the antique stores around here ask anywhere from $9 to $20+ for them. Glad the Owl found a good home . ~Jim

Most (but not all) poisons with the NOT TO BE TAKEN embossing are English, Canadian or Australian. The standard vertically-ribbed hexagon was a popular style of English poison. There are a few rare American pharmacy poisons that also use the NOT TO BE TAKEN warning, as well as a newer screw-cap American type.

While they did use POISON on some, the English also used POISONOUS frequently. Some Canadian and Australian poisons used interesting warnings like CAUTION, BEWARE, USE WITH CARE or EXTERNAL USE (or the French USAGE EXTERNE). ~Jim
