This bottle has the original label and is marked 1904 World Exposition. Berliner. Getreide-kummel made by Cark Mampe A-G. The bottle is embossed, THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD, and has a elephant on the bottom. It also possibly has the original contents in it, which, per the label,

This exceliant beverage produced according approved prescription from the very best Kummelamen (carawayseed) It is garenteed pure and contains only ? ingredients.

The bottle is 10 inches high, looks like it has an applies lip, the seam Hmmm, I can't seem to find one? but it also has a name embossed on the back I'm thinking it is Carl Mampe.

Any clue what this bottle might be worth?
thanks
ann

Cool bottle whether it is worth anything or not. Was the 1904 World's fair in Chicago?

It was the 1904 St. Louis, Missouri World's Fair. (had to research that one) It is a cool bottle, kinda strange to have the liqiud still in it. Thanks for your reply.

Hey Ann, It's a bitters bottle. Most Carl Mampe bottles have the elephant and his name embossed on them and sell for $20 to $50 depending on it's size shape and color.

I cant give you a price because I have never seen one with a label.

I bet you had to be realy hard up to drink caraway flavored gin.

Does it have alcohol in it? ... no problem for this ol' sailor. I drank D'absinthe overseas and it has anise in it.
