1915 Coke Lewistown, PA - 11/29/2009 1:29:54 AM    Jim Posts: 3599 Joined: 7/5/2005 From: Lewistown, PA Status: offline I know this bottle won't interest everyone, but if you're a Coke guy (or gal), you know how tough this bottle is to find. Offered here to benefit our forum is a Nov. 16, 1915 Coke from Lewistown, PA. This bottle is dug, and has been well-used, but will look great on the shelf. Its worst issue is a small chip on the side, which I will picture. Other than some small bruises around the base and one more tiny flake right above the heel, that is all that's really wrong with it. I have done a lot of digging in and around Lewistown, and the 1915 Cokes rarely even turn up around here. I am fortunate to have two nice examples in my collection, so I would like for this one to find a home with a collector who needs it. This auction will end at midnight on Sunday, December 6. It is about the size of a single baked bean (best descriptor I could think of ). Not that bad, and it doesn't affect any embossing. Around the heel, the bottle is very faintly embossed ROOT 18, making this a very early Hobbleskirt from 1918.
