I have an old Pat'd 1915 bottle with New York on the bottom and " 160 Root 31" on it I know the Root refers to the bottler, Root Co. I did some research and couldn't find the value posted for NY bottles. Many other city names but never a mention of NY. Help?
First photo of bottom
Thanks! CSJ

root is actually the company that made the bottle. they are from terre haut indiana. most of the older cokes were made by chattanooga glass company but there were several smaller companies too. reed glass made some lychburg glass made some grahm glass made some imperial glass made some maywood glass.i know there were others just cant bring them to mind right now. hope this helps you. later greg

Thanks Greg!

I found out from another source that the "Root 160 31" found on the heel is broken down into the Bottling Co. (Root, as you said) and the three digit is the mold, the 2 digit is the year. But I don't understand if the year was 1931 then why not use the mold that shows the patent from Dec. of 1923 ?

Thanks, CSJ
