7-UP BOTTLE (Amber Colored) - 6/8/2003 8:17:11 PM

I have been in posession of an amber glass colored 7-UP Bottle since I was little girl. It has the picture of the lady swimming up on it and reads on the back:
For the stomache sake do not stir or shake. It was made in Dallas Texas prior to the bottle color change to green.
I have had very llittle luck in finding history on this bottle and would appreciate input to its date of circa, possible value and rarity. Thanks for any and all replies.

Hi Sherry - From what I just found on the internet, 7-Up came into existence in 1929 the year of the great stock market crash and the beginning of the Great Depression. It was originally an amber bottle, but I have not been able to find out when it changed to green. You may want to go to the 7-Up website www.angelfire.com/tn/traderz/7up.html to see the amber bottle found there. Does it look like yours? Does yours still have its paper label? If not, this site shows you an example in its prime, with paper labels and even the crown cap on top. Interesting that this soda was supposed to be good as a hangover cure, especially because it is also a great mixed drink base!

Since this is a post 1900 bottle for sure, we will move it down to the next category in our forum in a day or so. Since you' re a new member, I just wanted to let you know first so that you would know what happened to your posting.
