I found these two porcelain on steel signs the other day on my lunch break. They were behind an abandoned car parts repair shop. I went out behind the old place looking for a bottle dump, but could only locate some old car bodies.  Under some pine needles, a little color poked through and the first sign came up. It was attached to some kind of wooden truck bed.  I thought maybe there's one on the other side, so I pushed and flipped the bed over and sure enough, a match! They popped right off.  Happy and proud, I went home, did some online research, and found a buyer on a petroliana site.  He offered me $700.00 for both !  Hell, ya!  Turns out they were Ford used car signs.  They measure 48" x 24". It was fun finding them, but more fun selling them.  Still kinda bummed about no bottles, but I think I'll go back again.

They were some rusted out hoods, doors, and misc parts. Looked to be from the 1940's or so.  I don't think there's much stuff after the 50's.  I am going back to look for hood ornaments, etc, but it didn't look too promising.  There's not too many parts.  I was thinking about liscense plates next.....

Wow,
Only sign I ever see is
"Artifact removal prohibited by penalty of ......"

They don't seem to sell for much but do generate allot of unwanted interest!
