The bottles seem to be in the darker layer of dirt underneath all the coal ash. There's not much of anything in the ash. The dump starts producing at the three foot level , then goes down a foot deeper. Here's a whisky jug and what turned out to be a large bowl with a strainer area, like you see on teapots. The bowl was ironstone, around 18 inches across. Both were broken. I also found a very squat whisky jug with the lip broken off. I'll have to get a pic of it next time because it is unusually short around 6 inches. I've turned up some older looking aqua blob tops so I'm hoping to find a whole bottle. I didn't get much time in today but did remember the camera and I got another hole trenched out. Next visit should be a little more productive.
