A rare find indeed. I must say it is not a find I would like to make.

I heard many years ago of live grenades being found in an old airport dump. They had been there since World War 2.

My dad, being a forester who walks around in the woods all day, came across an unexploded WWII era air-to-ground bomb after a skidder pushed a logging road right past it. They had to call the national guard to figure out what to do about it. The scary part was when one of the "brighter" loggers picked it up and started knocking it against his bulldozer to "knock the mud off of it so he could get a better look" (his words). My dad and all the rest of the crew ran for cover while yelling "quit banging that thing around!!" Thankfully it never went off. Too bad the authorities came and got it, I would have loved to have it permanently made inactive and put it on display in my house or something. Talk about a conversation piece.
