Nice collection, the National Soda Museum would probably like to get pics or samples () of your bottles. What's that one (appears to have it's contents) with the Betty Boop character on it? I remember watching her and 'Pappy' when I was a kid; wish I still had that Pappy 'Spinner cap' I had as a kid.

Thank you for the nice comments about my bottles. I wish I had more room to display all my ACL those are ones I have just thrown on shelf and not my best ones. I don't even know what I have I buy big lots and cheap lol so they get thrown in storage till I get a place where I can display them.

The holly bottle is a partial fantasy bottle. Now let me explain the holly bottle its self is a real bottle, But the betty boop knockoff was added later. there was a Man by the name I believe was Tom Marsh he made several fantasy bottles. In this case he got a bunch of Youngstown Ohio holly bottles and made them More desirable.
I know he also made a Ted Williams root beer bottle. It has a picture of Ted Williams on it I believe that image was pulled from a sign.
He also did one on a brown bottle that has an old car on it I believe it was called Hudson root beer but not positive about that. there are a lot of collectors from my understanding that didnt like he made these bottles.
True it isn't Real bottle but he did a great job on them and im glad to have it in my collection. i wish we had some more acl collectors on this board but i love to look at all bottles and finds so keep postign them
Brian

I'm glad to see alot of you are enjoying the "lowly" ACL. I would love to see a forum dedicated to these mini works of functional art. I am attaching some of the pics of my modest collection. Including some I just dug. Both the dirty (just dug) and the clean were found in a dump on my property. It's hard to believe that the ones on the right looked like the left ones only a few days ago! I have included some others from the site and a picture of ones that I display in my home. Hope yopu enjoy these as much as I do...

Good looking bottles glad to see others sharing some of their ACL and soda photos.

Madman Im guessing your bottles are 1920s - 1930's. they are nice clean looking embossed bottles. Just remember to check any of them for a 3 rivers mark makes it an even better bottle.

glopf I am so jealous of you. Where are you at by the way. there are tons of ACL i have never seen or heard of as I am just a novice compared to some out there. You are digging some nice ACL with great paint. As for the cokes like the one in your picture I wouldn't waste my time cleaning them unless you like them. they hold no value unless they have a good town on bottom of them. I wish I had the book that tells you which ones are good but I haven't been able to find it.
The embossed DR peppers you have there were used from 30-50's depending what is on the back will date the bottle. Also something to look at on those bottles they come in clear and green and on some of the bottles you will see that the 4 is place in the 6 o'clock position. the really good ones have the letters coming out of bottle instead of pressed into glass they are hard to find. Out of probably 100 of these bottles I have come across I have only found one.

Keep digging and posting im enjoying this
Brian

Here are a few hard to get Maine ACL bottles -

Clipper Root Beer - this one goes from $50-$100

Nickel Nips - the only five ounce Maine soda

Neeco Coffee Soda - there's a similar one to this from Massachusetts

All three of these bottles are from the same bottler from Newcastle, ME

Those are some great ACL Sam. I looked in my ACL book for your bottles. it showed the necco as VR but listed city of Jamaica, NY.
I have seen the cap for that bottle many times but first time I have seen the necco bottle.
That is a neat nickel nips there is a bottle cap that has nickle___ that has a picture of Indian on it. I cant remember what it said but I think it said nickel drink. Im not sure if I have heard of a 5 oz soda so that makes it really neat.
I like the clipper bottle amber bottles show off great ACL paint.

Thanks for sharing
Brian

It's great to see you all are dusting off those ACLs and posting the pics! Hey Sam that "Clipper" is beautiful! Flasherr, I'm diggin in NC. I only found the dump a few days ago (My first Dig) and I can't stop clawing through the mud and trash! As for the embossed Dr. Pepper; The numers are raised and the clock point to 10 2 and 4. The 4 is in its proper position on the clock. I'm sending a pic now. Not a great pic I know

Are you positive that letters and all graphics are raised? Im comparing my bottles to your picture and it looks more like pressed in type. But I only have the one to compare it to. What does the bottom look like does it have DR. pepper?

Notice the period after dr. latter bottles will be block instead of script and drop the period.
