Alien Demijohn auction to support Forum - 9/5/2008 12:07:48 PM    GuntherHess Posts: 5157 Joined: 12/13/2004 From: Frederick Maryland Status: online This is an auction to support the upkeep of this bottle forum. I have not done a forum auction for a while so here is a new one. This auction is for a strange demijohn type bottle. I would describe this bottle as a St Bernard with the head of a Chihuahua. Its about 12 1/2" tall with an applied blob top. The bottom has a large spherical kick up. The bottle has thousands of bubbles and quite a few potstones. Great shape with just some dust and water stain in the bottom. If you want a cool window bottle you will like this one. AUCTION RULZ - Auction starts .. RE: Alien Demijohn auction to support Forum - 10/5/2008 8:56:05 AM    tigue710 Posts: 1743 Joined: 7/11/2007 From: connecticut Status: offline a little information on your bottle... it is a Mexican made piece of glass.  Its not a reproduction though.  They were made in Mexico for the export of Bacardi and other liquors in the 1920's - 1940's.  At the time glass was still hand made in Mexico.  I have a Kahlua bottle from the same time loaded with seed bubbles and with an open pontil!  Also had a few of theses.  One was teal green and sold it for 70 bucks on e-bay, as a Mexican piece, the aqua one went for 40 and one I still have with the wicker, labels and even wax seal intact, although empty... _____________________________ aint no bottles in there....
