Even though it doesn't have Duraglass on the bottom, the 6 does indeed have the dot which marks it as a 1946 bottle. Huston must have kept this bottle longer than most. Usually by the end of the 1930's most bottlers had switched to the green slim bottle. Of course most used paper labels up to that point as well. RE: Amber 7 up - 3/12/2010 11:40:55 AM    SODAPOPBOB Posts: 3574 Joined: 3/10/2010 Status: offline For those of you who have the "ACL Soda Bottles" book published by the Painted Soda Bottles Collectors Association, you will see where one of those amber 7up's is shown in picture #6 that is from San Diego, California, and dated 1936. It also indicates that one sold sometime between 1995/97 for $125.00. I recall one time back in the late 1970s when I was primarily interested in Coke bottles, and I saw one of these squat 7up's that a dealer was selling for $5.00, but I passed it up and bought a full 24 count case of 6 oz. embossed Coke bottles instead for $10.00 - and that included the original wood case they came in!  Man-O-Man ... how times (and prices) have changed.
