This is my latest pick up from eBay.I hit it big again as this vase is an 18 rib 18th century 1780 to 1790 very  light greenish grey in color and nicely proportioned. The attribute which tells me that it is a strong candidate as for being Amelung is the reddish orange dirt matter in the pontil again so prevalent from bottles, tumblers, tankards anything glass made at Amelungs works. The vase is very large in size 11 and a half inches tall by 7 inches wide at its widest point. It has quite a bit of large potstones and dirt debris scattered through out the piece. The grayish color in the green is a good indicator also of Amelung attribution. The handles are solid and attached strongly with no imperfections. The vase is in near mint condition and has very little imperfections other then potstones which on end of day piece's only enhance the value of the glass. It has a slightly folded rim also indicative of colonial glass. This vase has been passed down and has never seen the dirt in the earth as there is even  not  a trace of  water discoloring where flowers may have been put in the vase. After visiting the Corning museum and seeing Amelung glass there first hand there are quite a few similarities with glass I have posted here at the forum before.

Number 8 It is tough to see in this picture but if you look close in the base you can see an olive colored striation travelling about in the base circumference.

Number 10 The only real imperfection in the glass, a milk colored haze which cured into the center of this handle while anealing

Steve,

Very nice pickup.( again)   I finished reading the two books on John Frederick Amelung and his glassworks.  It looks like the Maryland Historical Society has some of his works on display.  I will have to check out this winter.
