Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the value of an american pot lid.  It is from Royce Esterly, Heimstreet, Troy NY.  It has an eagle and a shield on it, and says "cleansing and preserving the Teeth, Clorine detergent and orris dentifrice.

I was able to find a picture of it on the internet (I do not have a camera).  This is the same one, except mine is in better shape and has black print instead of blue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Sidney

Hi Sidney.

This lid as you know came in 2 colors in this version and dates from around 1855.There are 3 other versions from the same company with name changes when different partners came or left..
Not sure of an exact value but would think $ 200- $300 in good condition.

The bases for these are actually harder than the lid. Combined mint $500 - 700. Nice lid!
