Here is a very rare Newspaper The Gazette of Maine out of Portland in the year 1825.This newspaper is extremely rare and I had to sure up the edges on it to keep it from splintering. In this paper Dr. Dyott advertises through his agent in Portland .The agents name is John Coe Jr.and he is located opposite the head of the long wharf in Portland.Dyott takes up one third of the back of the newspaper as he was not to shy to spend the money to advertise. There is a lot of other news from Maine if anyone is else interested I can post additional pictures.

These old newspapers are such a joy to read! I love the 200 year old take on life.. hard to imagine nowadays that newspapers back then were the equivalent of internet, TV, radio, and telephone combined! Life was really different back then.. fascinates me.. the CANAL BANK is an interesting proposition..!
