Hello,
Anyone have any info or history on this bottle and what it might be worth? It's about 12" high, no inscription anywheret, looks like pewter bands on it. It's been in my family for years, my mother is asking my sisters and I if anyone wants it. Figured I'd do some research before answering.
Thanks,
Rich

You might want to try an antiques forum. It seems more of a decorative antique than a bottle.

That's old for sure...I'm no expert but I've seen that type of inward curves on hinge molds.

I'm definitely no expert, this is all new to me. I googled hinge molds and it looks like I should see a seam (which I don't) if it was a hinge mold?

well...you're right probably, that was a guess but that small inward curve means something and it doesn't look like a kick up..all I know is it looks like the real deal on age to me.

Nice 1880s-1910s blown decanter! The bottom helps tell the story as it has a polished pontil. These finely ground & polished (dished out) pontils are typical on "better quality" decanters of that period. It may be American but is probably european>German/Bohem/Austria.
