Hey Shannon, it looks like one of the early Janos Bitterquelle bottles or one of the other bitter water bottles.

Looks like a bottle mold that has been reused! I have seen the bottom where there had been makers marks that have been gone over to hide the old mark.   Try and get a better picture and post it.

Pic #5.....is a Deep COBALT color...unless its a trick of the light/camera....It does not look like black glass to me at all....
3 section molds like that tend to be 1880 era I think...very early for a bitterquell...? Need better pics...

Just wandering how you came across it? Was it with a bunch of  European bottles or maybe with some turn of the century American bottles or maybe it was all alone in a hole under the floor boards? This could help alot to decide its orogin and date of manufacture. So let us know how or where you you got it??? Hey! you know what I don't have a clue on how to spell orogin????????

Romford is a town in the county of Essex in southern England. Bottle looks pretty typical of black glass (not blue) spirit bottles of the 1850s - 80s period in England. The blue colour on the base is kindof common on this type of bottle, and is restricted to the surface of the glass. Some people think it might be an indication of a late type of improved pontil mark, but there's no agreement on that.

Hello~
Tyvm All for info on bottle...Ive been wanting 2 post back..but we had someone hit our telephone pole on corner&had no cable 4 few days & than we got snow lol been very crazy...I also was able 2 get digital camera back from relative but not apparently working..none the less I was hoping 2 be able 2 get a pics of bottle in natural lighting..outsise,window seal ect...but left only with web cam once again..which is attached to my desktop..not happening..but what I did was put my desk lamp behind bottle to see (even though bottle is still filled)could see actual color...The blue is not really apparent to me unless in bright lighting..near my cpu monitor & when taking pics with cam..so prehaps is as Jerry-DeepBlueDigger has posted-Thanks for post-Every1...the light behind bottle definantly was interesting...showing bottle to be a dark amber color with 3-1inch(approx) vertical  bubbles in shoulder area of bottle..Also there appears to be staining to the glass inside bottle..And though bottle is unopened & still filled...It isnt full-im not sure if evaporation over time or ??but bottle's liquid contents stop just shy of start of shoulders....As to were I or how I came across bottle...My Great Aunt's Attic~Was a Treasure Chest of the past..these bottles {Jenny Lind/A Reproduction of simon's centennial bitters/washington,This Black Glass Bottle,& 3others that ill hopefully be able to get posted on here hoping to find out what they are-Though Im confident I know what 1 of 3 is-But these Bottle were left to me along with all the contents of the Attic-Never any mention of any of it- much less any clues to its orgins...So its My Never Ending Curiosity...Lol...But again tyvm all for help I appricate it greatly-
