Anybody here know anything about Insulators? - 9/2/2010 7:12:13 PM    Wheelah23 Posts: 3648 Joined: 8/9/2010 From: Glen Ridge, New Jersey Status: offline I found 3 of these along the train tracks. They are brown, and they're insulators... that's all I know about them. They have "RACO" written on one place, and "DEAD-END" below it. I know NOTHING about insulators, so any information about these would be appreciated. I'll post some more pictures of them. Attachment (1) Post #: 1

Let's say a line ran out to the last pole at a dead end, and you wanted to attach it securely to the last pole.. take the line and fold the end over this ceramic piece and tie it back upon itself out the other side, using 12 gauge ties or whatever.. then there's another piece of heavy line wrapped around the pole.. take the end of that and follow the other groove in the insulator, loop line "b" back to the pole, pull taught, and secure.. it's kinda like a pulley without a wheel, sorta..
