I'm wondering, if the centered number on the bottom of the bottle indicates the size...I have these two, one quite large, 3 1/4" tall, w/number 40 on the bottom, and the more typical size one: 2 1/2" tall, w/number 27 on the bottom...??? Thx- Julie

I doubt that the base number has anything to do with it. 40 and 27 wouldn't make much sense as a measurement. I do think you are onto something, though. All the Carter's round inks I've dug have "2 1/2" on the base; I never thought about it, maybe that's the height?

Hi Julie.....

I just went and looked,..My small sanfords has the 27 on the bottom too. Not so sure if it's a mold number, or just what does it designate....

Thanks Joe! Yeah, the small one seems like a pretty common size. But, had never seen a larger one, and then noticed the numbers on the bottom and thought maybe it indicates size... Hope someone has some diff sized ones. -Julie
