This just came out of a Civil War campsite trash pit. I found it in Zumwalts food bottle book but can find nothing current. In 1980 the year of the book it was listed as rare and a value of $125. Anyone seen one sell lately I can't find out anything on it other than a few have been found on Sunken Civil War ships. Thanks for any help. dm

It has a nice big Broken pontil . The bottle has no cracks chips etc just normal haze from 150 + years in the ground. dm

here's another shot EF DIXIE WORCHESTER SAUCE must be a little more rare than Lea & Perrins dm

It's listed on Page 63 of my book, The Collectors Guide to Civil War Period Bottles and Jars -- Third Edition. It is scarce, but can be had from various dealers.

Hey Mike,

I was just looking up this bottle in you book The Collectors Guide......before I read your post!!
I noticed that the bottle that you have listed on page 63 is E. R. Dixie. There is also a picture of it on pg. 60 and the top is different from the picture above.
I don't know enough to discribe it. Would these details make a difference in the rarity/value?
