I have had the blue example for years and had never seen an aqua example until this one showed up on ebay last week. I really like collecting the same bottle in several colors. Now if only a green or puce example in this mold would show up.

Nice!  A run of colored pontils sure beats a run of bromos but the cool thing either way is there's always a possibility of a new color turning up.

Nice addition, Chris. I hope you can find another color or three to join those beauties.  ~Jim

Nice looking bottles. Same exact mold, the lip top looks a little different. What are they 5 or 6 inches tall?

Jim,
Thanks. I'd really love to find another color in this mold. There are a couple smaller sized Davis and Millers in green.

Rockbot,

Yeah same exact mold. The blue example is iron pontiled and the aqua is open pontiled. The tops are slightly different but being they were from different glass batches I'm sure different lipping tools were used on them. They are 8 1/2 inches tall so a good large sized bottle.

They could have been used for many products. I wonder if they were used as master inks?

Matt you took the words right out of my mouth. Davis and Miller produced ink also. There are embossed umbrella inks with their name and I have a small unembossed utilty with a davis and miller ink label. I have speculated that the blue example may have been a master ink for a few years now. It wouldn't surprise me if that is what they used these large bottles for. There is also a larger sized about a half gallon pontiled Davis and Miller bottle that I still need an example of.

Chris

Jimbo,

Did you sell yours through glass works  auction 4 or 5 years ago? If so I was the under bidder.

Chris
