Hey Joe, Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I never got a chance to log on yesterday. The bottle you have is indeed mis-spelled. The correct spelling as Roaddog noted is WERRBACH. And as I'm sure you've noted Milwaukee is also mis-spelled with two LLS (MILLWAUKEE). I imagine that when they ordered the bottle, they were worried about the name being mis-printed so, they told them to make sure that they double the third letter. It just turns out that they did it on the wrong word. (This comes entirely from my imagination, though). The bottle is beautiful and its blue. Not too much more you could hope for (except that it was whole and had pontil scars etc . . .) We call this type of bottle 'transitional'. You can just see the change in Werrbach bottles as the 1880s approached. BEfore they had long slender necks. In the late 70s early 80s, they developed stronger shoulders. By the time hutches were commonly used they had heavy shoulders and much less neck. About your specific bottle. Because of the errors and the color, it obviously highly collectible. One state expert lists the relative rarity as "VERY RARE" (which means he knows of five or less bottles in existence. I'm not sure if its quite that rare, but it is a good bottle. If I were to appraise a minty example, my guess is that it would be worth about $150 maybe $200 on a great day. With normal wear and tear, I'd say $100-125 -something like that. Werrbach was a big company from a big town and it might have been more valuable if it was from some tiny little brand. As to your missing bottom. I don't know if it would be worth it to have it repaired. It probably still looks good in a window the way it is. Maybe it could be used a candle holder. You could burn little tea lights inside there? MIght be cool. As far as the value of your bottle without the bottom, I would guess that someone who really wanted one and was willing to hold onto it until a better one came along - it might be a few bucks. Great bottle! Sorry it was broken.
