Tobin is listed in the Austin TX City Directory 1887-1892 as a Wholesale and Retail Druggist, Bookseller and Stationer. 700 Congress St corner of 7th. He's listed on the 1880 and 1900 census living in Austin, born March 1838 in AL. 1880 his occupation is listed as drugstore, 1900 he's listed as a merchant/stationer 1910 lists his wife Ida as head of Household, widowed. Son James is listed as a clerk in a bookstore. 1920 lists widow Ida, with son David as a merchant/stationer. Hope this helps a little!
