I picked up this 1880's druggist yesterday. Can anyone give me any info on it?

I have seen a few of his bottles, and they are not very rare.  But all Texas druggist are fairly valuable.  I do not have any particular info on the druggist, but it is a nice bottle.  If ever decide to part with it I would be interested in procuring it.  Nice find, and have a great week!

I can tell you that John J. Tobin is listed in the Austin TX City Directory 1887-1892 as a Wholesale and Retail Druggist, Bookseller and Stationer. 700 Congress St corner of 7th.

He's listed on the 1880 and 1900 census living in Austin, born March 1838 in AL. 1880 his occupation is listed as drugstore, 1900 he's listed as a merchant/stationer
1910 lists his wife Ida as head of Household, widowed. Son James is listed as a clerk in a bookstore.
1920 lists widow Ida, with son David as a merchant/stationer.

Hope this helps a little!

Char

Brad,

Entertain me with an offer in a private message. I can be enticed to part with it. I have to recoup as much as I can, being I bought 32 other druggists along with this one.

For some reason I cannot send a pm.  If you would like drop me a line at nightshade818@sbcglobal.net.  Please include the size and condition of the bottle.  I am always looking for Texas stuff if you come across any. Thanks for your help.
