BAYER BOTTLE / BUT NOT WHAT YOU THINK - 1/22/2011 12:38:19 AM    SODAPOPBOB   Posts: 3678 Joined: 3/10/2010 Status: offline Howdy  ~ This is my first time posting in the forum, and I feel like a bit of a stranger. I recognize a few of the member names, but not many of them. I suppose my name is self explainatory to where I hang out most of the time. I am sorry to say I do not collect or have a single poison bottle in my collection. But I do have a about 500 soda pop bottles, mostly acls. I click around on the internet quite a bit and often see some pretty bizarre bottles and stuff. But the one below is a first see for me. I never heard of such a thing. So I figured since I have been around bottles for the past thirty years, and have never seen a bottle like this before, that there were probably others who have never seen or heard of it either. Thus, my reason for sharing it now.  I don't necessarily expect this to involve a long suggestion. It's a weird subject anyway, and taboo on my list. But the bottle itself blew my mind! Just about the rarest thing I ever saw. I wonder how many of these are around and how rare and valuable they are? I found the picture below while clicking around the internet looking for some soda bottle info, and then this crazy thing just poped up out of nowhere. Here's the text that was associated with it ...         { Bayer marketed heroin over-the-counter as a cough suppressant from 1898 to 1910. }                                                        Pretty weird, huh? I will be back one of these days. Especially if I ever find a poison bottle. But before I go I would like to say one more thing. Which is ... SPB,I have seen this bottle on here before in an old post.I tell people about some of the historical meds and they are amazed at some of the things people were subjected to because of ignorance and greed.Basically like today! There is one modern ad that says your throat may swell shut from a side effect and to call your doctor if this happens!Hello?!
