I found this bottle a few weeks ago and am curious if anyone else knows anymore history on it. I know Walter Bellingrath was granted one of the original coke franchises and established it in Mobile Alabama. I also ran across a listing of a Bellingrath embossed soda bottle in a list of Alabama sodas that also has PROPERTY OF COCA COLA BOTTLING CO. (which makes sense) around the bottom, no city is embossed on the bottle. The bottle I found is embossed BELLINGRATH and around the bottom it has PROPERTY OF COLA COLA BOTTLING CO. but it also has LITTLE ROCK ARK. embossed around the bottom. So did Bellingrath make bottles for Arkansas or did he have a plant in Arkansas, I have yet to find out any tie to Arkansas for Bellingrath. Any information would be appreciated.

I wasn't sure if you got my first message so I registered. I have one other BELlINGRATH
bottle that was sent to me by a friend. I don't know what they are worth but since it's my name - it's kinda nice to have. I thought if I got another one, I might give one to my son and one to my daughter. Do you collect these?
Thanks,
Kim Bellingrath

p.s. my Great-Great-Great Uncle Walter Bellingrath - Founder of Bellingrath Gardens in Alabama - opened one of the first Coca-Cola bottling companies in the Mobile area. His brother started one a little farther north I believe.

Thank you for replying, I have yet to find out any information about this bottle and it is cool that you have one also and to hear that you are related to Walter Bellingrath. Does yours have a city embossed on it? As I mentioned in my earlier post, the only one I found reference to online was in a list of Alabama sodas, but it did not have a city embossed. I found it odd that mine is embossed Little Rock, Ark. I do collect bottles, not to sell them or anything, I just like digging up and finding old bottles. I like my Bellingrath bottle because it seems unique to me and it is in excellent condition. If I find another one I will be sure and contact you. Also, if you can find out anymore information on the Bellingrath embossed soda's, please share it with me as I am interested in their history. Whenever I get a digital camera I will post some better pictures of the bottle at my website.

i also have a bottle that i would love to find out more about.it is octagon shaped and looks like spider webbs around it.it is made out of the old clear glass.at the start of the body of the bottle it reads bellingrath beverages..and around the bottom of the body of the bottle it reads coca-cola bottling co mobile ala.one of my great uncle had one of the largest coca-cola collection in ga in the 80s and traveled all over the lower states collecting bottles and he said he had never seen this bottle.i seen a bottle just like it watching american castles in a display case built in the wall in the master bedroom at belligrath estates.so i would like to know it's value or just what was in it.i have a pic i'll post later

Hi Keith, Bellingrath of Mobile Al. Bottled soda in bottles marked that way. Little Rock Ark may be the bottle maker. I find local bottles with Little Rock on the heal, Try-Me is one example, and Pensacola on the bottom. Bellingrath still sells Coke in ACL bottles with there name on them.

Thats a nice bottle.

Merry Christmas

Hi I am not sure about Bellingrath selling coke with thier name on it in ACL bottles. I've been there recently and never saw any. The owner of the gardens owned a bottling plant, from what I was told, and used these special bottles at the garden. The Straight sided and the other vesrion, that looks like it has vines all over it, are worth around $15-$25. The octagon shaped bottle is very common in my area, you don't see the straight sided to often.
