I do not believe it was anything in the mold that caused this error, just simple, bad engraving. Engraving errors with Brookfield insulators are very common. One thing we need to remember is that this was 100 years ago or so, working in a glass factory. In alot of cases, the people that made the molds may have had little to no schooling, therefore spelling errors or backwards letters, or even small error like this may have been caused by illiteracy. I will have to look, but the "mold numbers"(the numbers on the dome) that Brookfield used on alot of those molds had alot of errors. I may even have a CD 102 like the one pictured with a similar or same error.
