This find was a bit freaky when I pulled it out of the earth- It's a metal claw holding on to a huge glass ball! It was one of two bases for a piece of furniture that I recovered. The thing is very heavy, as you can imagine. Has anyone else ever found a furniture bottom like this?

I've found furniture "feet" before but nothing like that ! just think if you found the ball by itself, the biggest "tom bowler" ever seen .
It an odd but a ripper find, don't know what you would display it with though.

Hey B.R- I found one exactly like that-I made a cool'wizards staff'for my son with the ball and claw on the top. It looks neat and its quite heavy.

My grandparents had a piano chair with feet just like that. That was forty years ago but I remember them clearly - they were quite unique!

Yep-definitely a piano or organ stool. I have one just like it. Great idea for the wizard staff!
