In the house that we are cleaning out, there are a bunch of old canning jars. Some of them are the old fashion ones with the glass lids. Does anything catch your eye? I can zoom in. I want to save the good ones from the dumpster. The problem is, they are all full.

I would hang onto the glass top jars as well as empty them out , they do not look to be anything of high value , but people in my area will buy them for three or four bucks just to set up and put change , buttons , marbles and so for in them for display .

I agree. $3-$6 each. Used for decoration they sell quickly at $3. Buttons, marbles, matchbooks, and pot-pourri look good in these jars

In my area, you're lucky to get $1 each for the clear atlas and ball wire top jars, I would save any other brands of the clear and all the aqua ones. Sometimes it's really hard to get the glass lid off the rubber seal after many years, a knife or utility knife blade comes in handy for that. I've gotten large quantities of these a couple timesfrom cellar cleanouts...back the truck up to the compost pile, open and dump.

Wheelah23,
Some of these things have been brewing since WWII. We also found some vintage 1980s Spagettios cans, they were crystalized. I'm not eating them!

That looks like a real old foundation in that basement.
You should probably scratch around and see whats under the dirt.

dogtx,
Yes, one of them was full, the other two were half full. I grabbed 2 of them, including the full one.

The pickled products (in vinegar) should technically still be good. The preserved products (in sugar) will probably have turned by now.

Looks like an old house.  Don't eat anything in those jars or cans (Botulism)!
