Blue Bottle found in old mill - 7/13/2010 11:54:57 PM    ColoradoBottle   Posts: 1 Joined: 7/12/2010 Status: offline So I don't know much about bottles, but I found this blue bottle in the remains of an old mill in Colorado. It's got a metal screw top with a Sharpe & Dohme label. It also has seams up the side of the bottle. I haven't taken the cap off because it still has liquid in it. It also has a the letter "M" on the bottom of the bottle in the middle and a "2" below it. I'm just curious if anyone could identify what this is? I think it's really cool. Attachment (1) Post #: 1

Status: offline As for the maker of the bottle: M......................Maryland Glass Corporation, Baltimore, MD. (1907-c.1970s). Exact period of use uncertain, but verified on base of cobalt "Milk of Magnesia" bottle from circa 1950 (see next entry). Also, a similar mark is known on the base of mouth-blown amber beer bottles and an amber salve jar, c.1885-1895, and the maker in those cases is unknown.
