Bottle Hunting 4 Insulators?!? - 5/18/2010 6:04:05 PM    swizzle Posts: 3583 Joined: 3/2/2005 From: Upstate NY Status: offline Well after a day of trying to hunt down a new dump I had about enough of the ticks chewin' my outsides and my stomach rumblin' on the insides. In a round about way I was getting back to the parking lot to my van when the last 10 feet before the driveways edge I saw a pile of insulators. I pulled out a few and decided it was worth it to go to my van to get my bucket. After a bit of sorting I drove home with a few of them. Here's my take for Sunday afternoon.  I did manage to pull one Brookfield out of the pile with a sweet little backwards 14 embossed on the top. A nice piece for my shelf once I get it all cleaned up. Someone's bound to buy a bunch of them. I was just lucky that I found all of these ones so close to the van. I don't mind picking up insulators in good condition if I can sell them for enough cash to buy batteries for my detector or enough gas to get to the next bottle dig. Its just a matter of setting the price high and then drop it a little every few days until someone shows up. As far as metal detecting goes I've found a lot of stuff. Some old coins, not much a v nickle, few indian heads, buffalos, mercs, rosies and a 1/2 penny bank token for the bank of montreal. Swiz (in reply to tftfan) Post #: 5
