I'm a British collector and I'm ALWAYS looking for interesting British pontilled medicines. Anything from the most common to the most rare, if it's not already in my collection. Flint, aqua, or coloured examples!!!

I'm even interested in damaged or broken bottles if the price is right. Chips, cracks, holes, necks missing, even half-bottles and sherds (such as those in the photo), so long as there's enough there to identify the bottle.

Thanks.

Jerry

Those broken examples need some unbroken ones for company.

Guys I have top $$$ waiting for English pontilled meds. The ones in this pic range in value from roughly $250 up to about $5000. I'll pay a minimum of $300 for any pale green/aqua or flint glass English pontiled medicine in good condition that I don't already have, or minimum $1,000 for darker coloured examples. Those are starting points.

As the photo in the post above shows, I even collect damaged examples, or sherds.

Please help! I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms ... it's been too long!!

It is Rich, although over here almost all Cephalick Snuffs seem to be in that dark aqua colour so its not an unusual one.

The only English pontil I've ever owned. Shame about the damage.

Rich.

deepbluedigger, do you ever sell photos of you bottles?
that one is stunning!

I don't know how know large your camera will allow you to enlarge to without distortion
but that's a beauty for someone who can't have the real thing.

Thanks for that really nice comment! Have to admit that I've never considered selling photographs of bottles. I wouldn't know where to start!

As for that one, if people want a larger version of it, for their own non-commercial personal use (I'll retain copyright), they are welcome to pm or email me, and I'll send it to them. It's a 6 megapixel camera, so should print out OK up to about A4 size, or even A3.

deepbluedigger,
let me get you some more information but their is another photo website that  stores your photos in 3 locations in the country then shows them online. you pay to hold you photos and you have all these excellent photo enhacing tools to bring out the best in you photos. then your photos are there for yourself and for the world to see and you get paid for so much for everyone that is sold. I thought is was a brillant idea. only my head feels like it is going to explode right now.

i'll google it and get back to you tomorrow. I think you have some great photos and with a little tweaking here and there. do you have any photo program that you use? or do you use a light machine in background ever?

I just a wannabe photographer who's camera died on christmas day. I'm waiting as my mother used to say, for my ship to come in and i'll buy a new one. what do you use?

hey, always watermark anything of yours

and someone just steals it.

Jerry,

I'm still looking for you they are pretty hard to find and all thoe ones I've ever dug came out of pre 1830s pits. Last early hole we dug had an odd london mustard with a propritors name i've been meaning to send you a picture. Also a broken flint Kings patent ess of peperment. That piece is around here someware When i find it I'll send you a picture incase its a mold variation you haven't seen.

Chris

Thanks Chris. Would be interested to see pics of the ones you mention. There are only a couple of pontilled English mustards with proprietors names that are at all common. One is Wardales, and the other has a Liverpool address but I can't remember the Co name right now. Even those are getting really difficult to find these days.

Have been digging a strange little site over here which has turned up a few broken pontilled meds. Very rare to find a site that early here. Kind of exciting even though all the pontils have so far been broken. It also turned up my first ever bears grease pot lid  :
