Are these bottles real or repros? This guy isnt going to get that amount of money either way but im curious. I have one of these in a different color that is blown, but I have my doubts that its a pre-1900 bottle. Anyone know?

Some are repros,...usually the embossing is more vague and less distinct on the repro, if I remember correctly....Buffalo Hunter's the guy to ask, but I think that's a repro.

Thanks, I think ive heard that some are real some are not. Though, I am curious about what the differences between the two are, and when and where were the repros made.

Hello to NCdigger5;   I don't think that one could be real, but if the seller thinks it is worth the Buy it now price, he must know something more than the rest of us.  Either that or he is hoping for a nice offer, wa-la.
I have three or four real nice old clear ones that I would consider selling, but I just put it off.  I also have some CHEMUNG SPRING WATER bottles with the tall indian and ground stoppers that are great old ones.  I also have some new gallon size CHEMUNG bottles.  Let me know if you have interest.  RED Matthews

If you look close at the lip, there seams to be a seam around the bottom of the lip, which screams machine made to me. I would say it`s a repro, or at least a newer machine made copy. The seller did list it under modern bottles.

This seller emailed me a spell back asking the same question. It is an old one and not a repro. With the Buffalo Girls it's not a dealer breaker when it comes to the seam, all except one of the amber shades were machine made. Three machine made reproductions were made and most sources date them to the 70's possibly Italy. They are found in pink, turquiose and a light amber that is close to the original but the design was not used in any shade of amber I have or have seen to date. I suspect a aqua one was used as the model for the mold and by chance they made it in a light amber that was close to the original.

The turquiose should not confuse anybody but it is almost always thought to be a teal. It's easy to understand how an honest mistake is made if you use a price guide that does not picture the teal. There are two different teals and my observations are one is a real bear to find compared to the other.

This shows the repro set to the far right compared to two originals of different shades.
