COHANSEY & LIGHTNING JARS Info? - 7/5/2008 2:19:04 PM    towhead Posts: 883 Joined: 12/31/2004 Status: offline Got a couple jars at a Sale today.....50 cents each....both have ground lips.... - the Lightning says Putnam 493 on the bottom, and the lid says patd jan 5 75 / patd apr 25 82 / and reisd june  5 77? the inside of the lid has a small star. -the Cohansey has a faint 2 ? on the bottom and the lid says patented  January 18 1876, and Cohansey Glass Manuf Co. The Lightening is nice too (I love them and collect lightenings and globes). I agree that is a very light aqua. Color is a hard thing to determine through a picture but it looks, aquamarine, if not sapphire. Nice finds for the price. Don't you just love it. Good for you. You go girl.
