This is my favorite bottle out of all the bottles I have dug this year… However, due to several reasons, I will be selling it… probably on ebay by the end of the week. I am not a professional and don’t want to list it wrong and wanted to make sure I advertise it right… I believe it would be labeled as a late 1800’s applied lip whiskey… is that right? Is that what this bottle is? Any guesses as to what it will fetch come hammer time? Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any knowledge shared. - Ben

It's a beauty and time period is right, if it were a Paterson NJ example I wouldn't hesitate to pay $100, but I don't know how common or uncommon this bottle is. Great color and it cleaned up nice....Best of Luck....Jim

I do still have it... I am taken back a bit with your offer though... and it makes me think there could be more money to be had if I sent it to auction..... BUT... this site has been a great resource and all have been kind... I see you are an Administrator and Supporter... so, having said that... I won’t send it to auction and will send it your way for that $100... plus shipping.... send me an email or something with your address and it will be in the mail tomorrow...

That's nice of you Ben, I know Charlie wants it because of the name...I'm not sure it would do $100 at auction but being that I collect a local town it would be worth it to me....

I'm probably not the only person here who likes embossed whiskies, and I have no idea if it's common or rare, all I know is I WANT one of those because it's my name.. and since I'm self-employed the "& Co" makes sense too, AND that NY is a suburb of Jackson NJ, it's relatively local and will fit into my shelf of most prized bottles..!!

It's a nice one in a cool color, congrats Charlie... I think it is a good deal for everyone, as Eastern whiskies don't seem to be highly collected. I don't know if it'd have reached $100 online.

I'd be surprised too, unless that is a highly collected town and the bottle is uncommon or rare.  I don't think late 1800 NY bottles are generally real desireable.  It is a large state.
