Found this jar yesterday
It's mark on the bottom indicates that it's from the 1920s
Looks purple in the picture but it's clear.
Anyone know much about this jar?

It was right on top of the ground.

It came with or someone has added a Ball mason lid on it.
On the bottom its mark is an oval with a diamond and an I in the center
and than a   2    0

I have seen that jar before with an apple butter label on it. Don't remember the brand, though.

No. It was in an antique store in North Carolina and it didn't occur to me to photograph it.

Was there a smooth area on it where the label goes?
The one I've got does not.

No, no smooth area. It was exactly as the one in the photo, but with the inclusion of a label indicating that the jar originally contained apple butter.
