Matt - My book lists him at 71 Franklin st in 63. He was born in MA in 38 died from meningistis in 89. Less than 5 lids known in black transfer in 1987.

Hi Matt,

Ry has given you the info on this lid which is from Sonny Jacksons pot lid book. This lid from the style would date from the 1880,s as very similar to the Maws lids from the U K and is probably a design that was ordered from Maws as they were major wholesalers that sold there products all over the world and also took orders for individual companies for their own designs on lids. This lid is certainly scarce but not sure how many may have been found during tunnel excavations in Boston over the last few years as have heard that quite a few lids were found but do not know which ones or how many.
Hope this helps

David

Obviously a scarce lid but at a distance would look identical to a Maws which are a $20 lid. Obviously made at the same potteries
Graphics on lids are everything.
