I do know that style of can made  a great homemade  cricket cage.  You will still find some of these at garage sales.  You simply cut the can into two sections, solder a rolled up piece of screen wire onto the two halves, pop a cork in the opening, and walla!! instant cricket cage.   People used to never throw anything away that could be used for something.  Maybe that's why there so rare around here. _____________________________ Buster Bottle Bug Bit with no cure in sight. Have a quart one out in the garage with a full illustration of a cow. Regretfully, it has a couple of good size pings in the glass.    logueb, here is one of three old stock unused cricket containers I found some time back, probably paid too much for them , but I do like the fishing memoribilia as well, thought they woulg go good with the old reels , glass minnow trap I have, and so on. RE: Conetop Beer and Super Milk Bottle - 6/21/2007 7:52:52 PM    carling   Posts: 370 Joined: 9/30/2006 Status: offline Here's a cool cone top, Carling's Red Cap Ale.  It is in the olive drab color cause it was made only during WW2 for shipment overseas to our soldiers.  This one books at $375, but very hard to get in nice condition.  One sold on ebay for $1300 and it was in bad shape compared to mine.  I got mine off ebay for $150 because there was a huge error in the listing that I stumbled upon, so none of the collectors saw it.  Got very lucky. Notice the containers I put the cans are in.  You can buy these for cone tops and flat tops.  They protect them and there is a moisture pack that sits on the bottom to keep the can dry and prevent rusting. That is a great looking Carling cone top as well ! That is probably the cleanest cone top I have seen, I like the display cylinder you have it in as well. Whoever came up with that idea, I tip my hat to them. I have a few more of the cone tops, but they are not in very good shape at all, but they display pretty well. Zane, I do not understand why you would make the statement that you highly doubt I have too much in the cone tops. Actually, I do indeed have quite a bit in the cone tops, I do not make a statement on here unless it is truthful, regardless of some who might think differently, it would make little sense to do so in the first place, being many of us do not know each other, other than on this forum. If I see something I want and am comfortable with the price of it, I will buy it. I wish I could say, Yes, I stole those bad boys, but regretfully, I didn't.  I would feel much better about having them if I had.  For that matter, I was not referring to the cone tops when I stated I probably gave too much for them in the first place, I was referring to the vintage new old stock cricket boxes I bought. Is it the cricket box what you are asking for a better picture of ?
