Milk Glass that is. The first one is a nice little pontiled pitcher. Maybe oil or vinegar? Still has a little bit of gold paint on it. Sure woulda been perty all in one piece.

Now this one made me want to cry. What a beaut. A ladies leg food bottle. Armour & Company Chicago. I don't care. Its still going on my shelf.

and before we change the subject I snagged this one out of my buddies sandbox and then went back to play in mine. Thanx, Jim!!

Now that the milks are outta the way I'll post a few in a row. A perty, glass, screw top stopper, an unknown pill bottle, "J.D.McCann Co. / Hornellsville, N.Y.", An amber lid and a mini lid, another Indian bottle "Baker's Indian Root Beer" WooHooo better then another Hires, and a Gomina Argentine lid?!? Never heard of it. I got some other stuff as well. A chemical bottle and another mason. My buddy Bombboy scored a nice Mason jar with the reversed N's. Well here's a bunch of pics in no particular order.

How could I have forgotten this cutie. This one has a story to tell. An early hutch that survived a fire. The bottle itself needs a tumble but isn't damaged in anyway. The only way I could tell that it was in the fire is that the lead bit on the bottom of the stopper in the bottle was melted. Its a really sweet looking tombstone slug plate local soda, "JOHN VANNEST AMSTERDAM N.Y." this was another gift from my buddy Jim. I told him if he keeps giving me bottles like he does then I'm just going to bring him and a lawn chair and help him carry out my bottles. He's a great guy and Bombboy joining the dig really made it a day to remember. 3 antique farmers, harvesting our crops on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. What could be better. Thanx all for reading and have a good night. Swiz

I don't have a tumbler or I would. I'm gonna try to soak it in The Works toilet bowl cleaner for a couple days when I get some more. If that don't work then I might have to call in a favor. Swiz

If you don't mind sending it across the country I'd be more than happy to give it a spin for you. I've been getting amazing results from the new stoppels I picked up from R. Wayne Lowry while he was in Oregon last month.

Nice finds - both of the milk glass pieces are very cool - you just don't see many unusual milk glass stuff, just the usual jars. That Armour bottle is a killer! Looks like you had a good day.

Here is a link to the post of the most recent soda I have tumbled: http://www.antique-bottles.net/forum/m-302566/mpage-1/key-/tm.htm#304566 , also if you search "Hookers throat remedy" on this sight there should be some decent before and after photos there too. I am not a professional and just tumble for the love of old glass. I've been at it for a little over a year now and my results  have been quite pleasing.

Other than covering the shipping cost I'ld be happy to tumble your soda as a favor. I enjoy how you always have interesting information, and know it must take a lot of time and effort for all of the results you produce for every one here. Send me a PM if you are interested and we can iron out the details.

That armour is something else Swiz. I would proudly display it.
The embossing on that hutch, is it weak or just hard to photograph?

Aloha, Rocky

Hey Swiz,...Good to see you still plugging away, I'm surprised you didn't call the thread, "Crying over "split" milk"....Is your amber lid for a fruit jar? It looks like it and may be a good one being it's amber. I think only a hutch bottle could make it through a fire without much evidence of it showing,...Some of the Hutches from the drugstore were sandwiched between bricks...They're pretty tough bottles. Thanks for posting your dig.

Hey KB, the lid says, " GEO. W. HELME CO. OF NEW JERSEY / PATENTED JULY 16 1872". My buddy Jim thinks it goes to a tobacco jar. I'm not sure but how could anyone leave something like that behind. I just wish I could have found the jar too.

Yo Rockbot, The embossing is good its just in desperate need of a tumble. the embossing and the slug plate stand out from the bottle. Once its tumbled it should stand out just fine.

Joe, I still have a dig planned for Thursday after work and Saturday morning. I'm not letting a 50 hour work week stop me from what I love to do. Besides there's only 4 or 5 months of good digging weather left. You just have to love those hutchs. Jim said he found 4 or 5 busted ones before he pulled this one out. Hopefully a few more good finds this coming weekend. Only time will tell. Maybe there's another Armour bottle in there for me. At least I got the top for it. I knew once I found a milk glass top that something cool had to be in there. Thanx for the nice comments guys. Good luck with your own digs. Swiz
