One of the nice things about dealing in old bottles is that you get the first choice of the bottles you buy to resell! On Sunday - New Year's Day - I stopped off after my market to buy a box of bottles from a builder, who had accumulated them over some time. It was a useful boxful, with some poisons, medicines & inks - but there, in amongst them was this:

It definitely needs a cleanup and some TLC, but it has a real "cut-your-finger-off" pontil :

Don't know where the bottle maker's attention was when he did this lip - probably thinking of his teabreak !

New Year's Greetings, Dale,

Hat's off to you, sir. That is a mottled beauty, indeed. It has such Obsidian tones. "More pictures, please!" says I.

Thank you, Surf, and Happy New Year to you. Yes, it does look a bit "stoned" !
Here's another picture showing the indentations and "patina"  Unfortunately I think a lot of it is "scratch markings", but we'll see how much it can be cleaned up.

I have always loved the case gins and that is by far the bestest one I have ever had the luck to lay my eyes on! Now THAT should have been put in the calender! Thank you for sharing this awesome bottle Dale.I think I will enlarge this shot and pin it to my wall above my monitor.If you should ever want to sell,keep me in mind please!
