On Sunday - New Year's Day - I stopped off after my market to buy a box of bottles from a builder, who had accumulated them over some time. Yes, it does look a bit "stoned" ! Here's another picture showing the indentations and "patina"  Unfortunately I think a lot of it is "scratch markings", but we'll see how much it can be cleaned up.
