Different Site...Same Kind of Results..... - 4/14/2008 9:39:15 PM    Staunton Dan   Posts: 358 Joined: 5/5/2005 From: Staunton, VA Status: offline   I started digging in the back yard of a pre civil house a week ago Saturday. I located a TOC to about 1920 privy almost immediately and dug a couple of nice bottles but none of the older bottles that I had been searching for. I have dug 3 more times since and still no older bottles and no other privies. I have dilligently probed the entire yard and was about to give up when I thought that I would try my detector once again like I had done on a previous early housesite. I almost immediately dug up 2 civil war era buttons and a neat railroad coal tag. Needless to say I am now beginning to sift the entire back yard. I will be back there tomorrow to see what else shows up. Attachment (1) Post #: 1

I'd love to dig around here to see what's still available (Madison Heights/Monroe, Virginia), but that's no longer possible.  Keep looking, there's got to be more there!
