I am posting this on behalf of Jesse Korwin for the benifit of all those Members who would like to become TV stars  Moxie Pictures a production company known for it's documentary and commercial work, is developing a documentary series for television around the idea of urban archaeology. We are looking for a host/partner/collaborator who will imbue the program with authenticity and care, as well as being entertaining and informative. Essentially the format of the show would involve our host and their team digging pre-determined sites (backyards, construction sites, etc.) and uncovering the treasures and artifacts that lay in the ground in our nation's urban centers. There is already network interest in the idea, the rest is up to us. If you are interested in helping out or learning more please contact Jesse Korwin, Head of Television Development, at jessek at moxiepictures dot com or 212-584-4386. We look forward to hearing from you.

thanks,
I have noticed quite a few similar spamish posts on this and other collectible forums. Not quite sure what to make of them.
Trying to capitalize on the latest craze of collectible/treasure hunt shows on tv I guess.

Hi there,

This is Jesse Korwin, Head of Television Development at Moxie Pictures (www.moxiepictures.com). The post at the top is real and is from me. We are developing a show around digging. I understand the sensitivity surrounding it, and am here to answer any questions and address any concerns. As I stated above we are not only looking for a host but a partner and someone to collaborate with. The last thing I want to do is offend anyone. With your help the I believe that the show can entertain as well as inform without being a hindrance. I look forward to your questions.

Thanks.

Jesse

I never had a concern with you per se but in this day and age, on the internet questions arise on my side. I apologize if I offended you.
Do you have a link that is more direct to the subject?
I'm not sure where that link is supposed to take me.
Thank you

Hi Jesse, thank you for coming aboard here to address this situation!
One thing I am sure would be very informative would be an in depth description of what it is you are looking for, what the arrangement would be, what role he/she would play in this production..

Thank you all for the warm welcome. The part of what you guys do that sparked my interest is that you are digging in places most people don't think of. When the average person thinks of digging, they probably think of an ancient ruin. The fact that your digs are happening in urban areas and yielding interesting artifacts that not only have commercial value but also shed light on the history of the area is extremely fascinating. Additionally, the idea that you dig on residential property has a "backyard buried treasure" component that will also be entertaining. Your interaction with the property owners is something that will provide connection for the viewer. Lastly, it takes a certain "character" to be a digger it seems. And your character is going to be an important part of the show as well.

In terms of what we are looking for, well that would be an individual or a group of individuals who can act as the host(s) of the program as well as advise and collaborate with me on the creation of the show. This would require you to communicate with me about all of the pitch materials, be available for the shooting of a pitch tape, possibly be available for pitch meetings, and then if a show is greenlit be available for the duration of the shoot (this is dependent on the amount of episodes ordered, but shoot schedule should not exceed 8 weeks). All travel, food, accommodations, equipment would be paid for. All liability would be assumed by Moxie Pictures and the Network. You would be compensated as talent.

I hope that helps. Please feel to message me with any detailed questions.

Thanks again.

Jesse

You realize, of course, that the only way to make sure such a show presents the hobby in a favorable light is for guys(or girls) like us to be the ones doing the digging. If done right, it might actually be easier to get permissions, and if it inspires a few new diggers(even after showing an all day dig that yields nothing better than a jelly jar, or the muck of a nasty wet hole - you can't only show the good days), hey, I'm willing to share, the hobby can always use new blood.

It seems like this could be a great opportunityfor one individual seeking fame and fortune.
On the other hand it seems likely to do considerable harm to the bottle digging hobby in general. Just think , telling the greedy masses that they can just go out and dig up valuable bottles for free. Consider how hard it will be to gain permissions then.
I wont be volunteering, I like the hobby too much.

you know they arent going to show that on tv. It makes for poor ratings. They are going to want to show the pit with the $10,000 worth of cobalt sodas. $$ ching ching $$

Sounds like the archies would have a field day with this one. What hasn't been shut down would certainly be shut down once the word officially gets out that "history" is being tampered with. I kind of like it the way it is now. I say let sleeping dogs lie.
