Anybody here dive for their bottles? I just moved down to Florida, where it appears that digging won't bring much luck, so I might consider going diving? Who hear could just give me idea on what that could be like. Let me know. And I thank you in advance.

Hey Rick,
I definitely dive for bottles. Oddly enough, I have never been diving in Florida.

Here in Wisconsin, I look for the oldest area on a lake or river that I can find and then hop in. Every area has its challenges, and I think it pays to be safe. If there is a river, be careful with the current and debris. You can get tangled up in branches, fencing, fish lines . . .  so taking it slow and steady is always smart. As you learn in dive training, never panic.

Finding stuff in salt water might be a bit different. I'd be careful with tides and the like. If you are fresh water diving there, you may have the additional concerns of alligators. I'd try to find a buddy if possible to look out for each other. . .

Best of luck out there and be safe.

If you're in FL, you should also take up diving for fossils!  they have some incredible deposits down there with the best stuff like giant megalodon teeth under deeper water.  Gators and snappers are some of the concerns though for sure.

Thank you, now all I got to do is find a diving instructor and partner. By the way, I live along the east coast near the West Palm area.
