You lucky Duck arthur. Do you ever take pics underwater?
I dying to get to the ocean for that is where I feel the most alive.
Where do you dive? Salt or fresh water? The body feels so free
in water.

My ocean diving days are over due the wheel chair and travel restrictions but I dive in the new river blocks away from our house.  Very old river with a lot of underwater dumps if you know where.  We are in the mountains and the river flows through NC through VA into WVA and up.  1930's through 50's dumps that are now covered with water.  Very rocky bottom but very clear.  No I don't have any underwater equiptment for that.  Unbelievable what you find.

they make disaposble underwater cameras now. Also canon makes a powershot camera with a plastic case you can buy for under water shots. I'd love to see any of you divers picking your bottles under water getting some pic down there.

thats the good thing about mountain water, its pretty clear and since the bottom is rocky the bottles don't get covered up over periods of time.

I love the water used to teach in that also from tiny babies to adults. Loved it also was a personal one on one trainer in the water.
Now the chlorine bothers me but I still love it as I feel alive in the water. I bet you do too arthur. Seeing all these sodas lately makes me want to start collecting them too.

Do you also dive, I'm sorry I forgot you name  please forgive me?

It's Dustin, got it...do you scuba or snorkel?  I could never were a mask on my face as I could never breath right. Too bad for me as I lost out. My son was like 12 when he passed his Scuba. I nearly had a heart attack the day he went for the exam out on the ocean.

Well a long time ago star dust I was in the military and spent 4 years over in Nam.  I was part of a group called SOG's or special operational group.  Always in the thick of things.  One day my squad got Captured by the VC.  It got pretty ugly tied up beat up hung in a tree and then my back went.  4 months as a POW.  We escaped  and were rescued by a group of marines who found us. been in a wheel chair ever since. Served my country and would do it all over again.  God bless the USA

Yep its Dustin.  No I don't dive or scuba, although I'm a pretty good swimmer.  Used to be on swim teams during my teenage years and won quite a few trophies and blue ribbons.  I hear its a good chunk of money these days to get a scuba license.  I do love the water though.  Now being so far out I can't see land does kind of bother me.

arthur,
God Bless you and THANK YOU for sharing and all you did for our country. I'm sorry that all that happened to you.
It brings tears to my eyes we send our young men over to fight and these terrible things happen to them. Things that should
never happen to anyone. Well arthur, I'm PROUD to say I've gotten to now such a wonderful man who has fought for our
country. I know how hard it was for my family and myself when my brother was there. Your family must have gone crazy with your situation.

Dustin, good to hear you were on the swim team. Say a quick prayer to who or what ever you believe in before you enter the water and protect yourself in a circle of white light. Yeah, it is scarey when you're way out and you look back. I have been really in the ocean in a few years and I really want to get to the Ocean BAD. I have the sound of the ocean Playing 24 hours lately. I find it soothing and relaxing.

Have fun out there swiming.  Hey, Don't forget your sunscreen!

arthur, your a very strong and brave man. I think you should tell your story under the post, say thanks to the military.
they are looking for bottle collectors who fought for our country. Now I'll always think of you as a HERO for our country.
To have gone through what you did and you don't sound like you have any bitterness at all. What a man you are!
