Then I rub it down with baking soda, then run olive oil on it.

What's the chemical theory involved? I never saw such an organic cleaning method!

I have used this method on old pennies, 1860's, and it works real well. They dont look cleaned, they just look good. Do not eat the potato please, although guess I could try half a tater and not waste so much.
