Dug Barrel Bitters - 8/6/2003 8:44:31 PM    baltbottles   Posts: 930 Joined: 11/25/2002 From: Baltimore Maryland Status: offline I dug a very rare barrel bitters from a small 4 foot deep wood lined privy a few weeks ago. Sadly it was in several pieces on the bottom of the hole. I saved the pieces and plan to glue them back together. It was embossed B.T. 1865 S.C. / SMITHS / DRUID BITTERS. this is a rare baltimore bitters and it was in a very rare green color. AND AS I WAS FINISHING THE DIG I WENT THRU IT IN THE BACKFILL. OUCH!! A FEW CHOICE CUSS WORDS AND A SMALL TEAR. I THINK I WILL USE A RUBBER PROBE FROM HERE ON!!! What a super coloration for a Druid' s !!!! WOW ! It will still look nice on your shelf when you get it glued back together and even if it is broken you have a Druid' s barrel in a coloration that not many people have intact or broken .
