I have been busy of late and have had no real time to spend here at the forum.I did pick up this early flint glass creamer last month
and it is a beauty as for color and design.Because the piece is footed I believe that it was made some time between 1795 and 1820.
It has been speculated by glass historians whether or not the lily pad design was strictly an 1800s design or could it also have been made
late in the 1700s.I think this piece is real close to being made in the 1700s.There are five pulls of glass on the longer petals and 4 shorter
pulls in between those. The piece leans slightly backwards toward the handle. The piece is 7 inches tall and the widest point on the body
is 2 and a half inches wide.

When you strike it with a spoon or another glass object it rings for a good 4 seconds, this is the reason for the flint glass determination.
I am not aware of any lily pad designed pieces coming from anywhere other then Southern New Jersey,Parts of New York state and a
few of the glass houses in New England.Lilypad designed pitchers are rare always, and footed lily pad designed  pieces are still rarer yet.
The color on this creamer is a very pale lavender, whether or not this was the truly intended color or could it have been sun turned this
color I am not really sure. The ringed ogee styled base of this creamer absolutely spells American made.

6.  I forgot to mention there are quite a few very small potstones in the glass.

9. There is a spout formed on the top also which makes the case for it being a creamer. Thanks Jim, I gotta run literally,I am up to 4 miles now in just two weeks my goal is to be able to run a 10K in Philadelphia real soon.

What a cool and unusual little pitcher. I am constantly amazed that glassware has managed to survive so many years. I know there have been many a broken glass in this house!

Hey there Steve,
Did you by chance pick this up on E-bay? I thought I saw the same pitcher in my watchers but I just went to see if it was there and it was sold and Aaron must have deleted the listing. I love it so much! Stunning piece of glass.

Jen

Me too! I would have bid as well but was broke at the time. I'm glad you got it. I am quite fond of blown whimsy's, pitchers, creamers, salts, and tableware. It's my favorite of all the old glass.

Nice one Steve.
Were these wares advertised lily pad or did the term come up later.
For me it's like "I guess I see a lily pad" but usually not really. Pic 4 is as close as I've been to saying "I see it".
It's definitely recognizable.
