Excercise and a bit of coinage. - 8/25/2011 10:21:54 AM    MIdigger   Posts: 766 Joined: 3/3/2010 Status: offline Decided to go metal detecting for a bit at a few new areas. The first stop was kind of a bust maybe 5 coins, and a brand new blue carbiner w/key holder. Interestingly enough, I also discovered a new dump. At first I thought it was maybe drunks throwing bottles. Then I saw mason jars, cobalt blue shards, a milk that was busted. Did some probing around and going back to see whats there. Then I stopped at a likely spot and came away from that spot with 40 coins. Didnt get rich today, but the dump area looks encouraging. Post #: 1

I tell ya the Govt needs to do away with those zinc coated pennies. They crumble to dust. I got one today so corroded it looked like a star. Its bad enough trying to roll those corroded things! I did manage (while scratching the dump area) to recover 2 marbles. Dug down about 6 inch or more and looks worth tearing into. The top layers look 40ish. (in reply to Dansalata) Post #: 3
