There are about a half a dozen known and all but one of the 5 or 6  known were dug by one person and came out of one privy in Brooklyn back in the 80's. Back in 1990, someone mailed me a picture of one in his collection as shown next to the other back lit bottles in the above picture. The one that I have finally acquired after months and months of hitting a brick wall, turned out to be the same one! Additionally, the place marker in lieu of a photo lends me to believe that he doesn't have one. Feel free to draw your own conclusion. I know who dug them and they came from an early privy.  One person I know of ended up with two and then there was the guy that dug them...let's give him two and then there was the Greer bottle that I don't know if there were firemen involved, why do you ask? Sam Greer had one and I believe it brought $1600.00 back in 1988, I am reasonably certain that Dr. Cannon was referring to the same. I'm not convinced that it's pontilled. It looks more like the base stuck when coming out of the mold. A comparison with the other examples would help.
