I went out to Brick, NJ for the bottle show today. I met John (Oldhitractor), Greg(bottle34nut), and cyberdigger(that was you, right? We didn't really talk). They're all great guys. Greg gave me an awesome "BARRY & KRAHN" Quart hutch from Orange. It's in perfect condition, except for having been tumbled. Everyone, say thank you to Greg. "Thank you to Greg!" I also bought, from John, a variant from the J.W. Ransley bottle family that I didn't have. It too is in perfect condition, except for a small chip out of the lip. Even better, it's not tumbled. The last bottle I bought is a weird one. It's a slug plated crown top soda from Clifton, but it's much newer than I thought when I bought it. I assumed, because it was a slug plate and had the "THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD" embossing, that it was from the 20's or before. I was wrong. As it turns out, this bottle is from 1947! I know this because it was made by the Glenshaw glass company, and because the lip is embossed with an "S", I can use their date codes to figure out the date. "SILVER SPRINGS/ BOTTLING WORKS/ CLIFTON, N.J.". Coincidentally, the base says "1947" as well!
