RE: Found this pop bottle at an estate sale today - 1/22/2012 6:37:07 PM    mattinad   Posts: 51 Joined: 12/11/2011 Status: offline It is from Los Angeles.  It is different from the one posted on eBay though.  The eBay one has "Yankee Doodle" in white lettering above the label and no rings on the neck.  This one does not have the writing about the lable but it DOES have a blob-like embossed area just below the neck rings on the front and back that has the piper and "Yankee Doodle Root Beer" in clear embossing. Is this one older than the 1947 on eBay do you guys think???  The rings give it a very "1930's Art Deco" look to it. -Dylan Attachment (1) (in reply to splante) Post #: 8

Is there a recommended way of cleaning these old bottles?  There is some crud inside this one. -Dylan  If it's just dirty inside try soaking it with water and soap for a day, you can add a little vinegar or bleach too....if it's still dirty try a scoop full of sand and some soapy water and shake it around for 5-10 minutes and empty and was it out.
